6 TIPS ON WHAT TO DO DURING RETIREMENT AGE


 

1. Plan your retirement in the spirit of having something added to your life.

2. Don’t be against thing so much as for things.

3. Even if you can afford it, don’t rely on loafing. Life doesn’t have to be easy to be wonderful.

4. Get up every morning wanting to do something.

5. Seek variety, develop original ideas, go with your whole heart, don’t let the minutes rust away.

6. Try to keep healthy. “Remember: Every time you go down, get up again. You’ll be stronger than ever.”

10 BASIC TIPS ABOUT ASPIRINS



1. Aspirins deaden pain and so bring relief, but y taking them indiscriminately; there is a possible risk that more serious medical symptoms will go unnoticed as the pain dies down.

2. Aspirins are not a cure. They are painkillers, and should be treated as such.

3. If you have any persistent ache or pain, you should seek medical advices to find the cause, rather than dose yourself with aspirins. Doctors agree that aspirins are invaluable for the relief of headaches, menstruation pains and cold symptoms. Without aspirins, they say, their Monday morning surgeries would be even more packed with patients. The only provision is that they urge caution when taking them.

4. Some elderly people take aspirins night and morning habitually – which could be dangerous unless done under medical supervision. This is because aspirin is acetyl-salicylic acid, which can irritate the lining of the stomach and causes slight internal bleeding. That does not mean that every time you take an aspirin you lose a few drops of blood, as some people believe. There is the risk though, that prolonged dosage will cause bleeding.

5. “Nobody should take more than three aspirins at a time.” Never take more than six in one day unless on medical advice.

6. The best way to take aspirins, and thus minimize their effect on the stomach, is either crushed in water or during meal. However, people with stomach ulcers or tummy upsets should avoid them altogether because of the risk of internal bleeding.

7. Like all drugs, they should certainly be keep out of the reach of children. Should a child swallow one or two aspirins, you should try to make him sick, either by sticking your fingers at the back of his throat or giving him salty water to drink. When a larger amount of aspirin is swallowed, it might be necessary for his stomach to be washed out.

8. Aspirins can kill, though people who take them intending to commit suicide may fail because big overdose are sometimes rejected by stomach. At an inquest on a woman who died of aspirin poisoning, the pathologist said that five tablets could be regarded as a “dangerous dose.”

9. Apart from killing pain, aspirins reduce inflammation and therefore are invaluable in the treatment of rheumatism. Nevertheless, rheumatism sufferers should consult their doctors before taking daily dose. The medical world agrees however that it is one of the “miracle pill of our time.”

10. Today salicylic acid, the chief ingredient in aspirin, is made synthetically out of a mixture of phenol and caustic soda which is dried in a rotating ball mill with added carbon dioxide.

4 TIPS ON HOW TO APPLY FAITH IN YOURSELF



 
1. Think success and believe that you are capable of being successful. Cease to think in terms of what you can not do, but in terms of what you can do. Never think failure. Failure is anti-faith.

2. When opportunity appears, hold the deep conviction that, ‘This is right for me. I will success.’

3. Believe BIG. The size of your success is not determined by the size of your brain but by the zie of your faith. Think BIG achievements and back them with BIG faith.

4. Affirm this belief: ‘Faith is an attitude of mind. Faith is belief in myself, things, other people and God. I live in Faith.’

10 TIPS ON PROPER SLEEP TECHNIQUES




 1. Do mild forms of exercise before bedtime.

2. Read light material.

3. Slow down all mental and physical activity one hour prior to retiring.

4. Take a warm bath.

5. Listen to soft, pleasant music.

6. Do not eat or drink before you retire (indigestion and a heavy stomach won’t bring about sleep).

7. Never take problems to bed with you.

8. Still the wheels of your mind and repeat: ‘I am drowsy I feel sleep coming on.’

9. Hold pleasant tranquil thoughts: joy, peace, harmony, beauty. Picture a tranquil scene: mountains, pastures etc…

10. RELAX body and mind, feel weightless, drift into sleep.

8 TIPS ON EARTHQUAKE SAFETY





1. The worst danger is over at the first minute of a major earthquake. Always try to maintain presence of mind. Be calm.

2. When earthquakes occur, the first impulse should be to seek cover or take refuge under a large piece of strong furniture when one happens to be inside a building.

3. When caught by the tremor while in the streets or between buildings, take refuge under a strong structure. Beware of broken down electric wires, falling debris, loose ceilings slabs and crumbling walls. Avoid staying or being caught in narrow alleys, between tall structures or wall, beneath steep precipices, riverbanks, etc.

4. Aftershocks are not as dangerous as the main shock. After the main shock, stay away from unstable objects or structures, damaged objects, ceiling, etc. Aftershocks may cause damaged structures of loosened objects to fall.

5. Extinguish at once fires that may start anywhere around you before attempting to save lives.

6. Strong earthquakes are: nature’s warning of an impending tidal wave. One should got to higher ground and away from landslide area.

7. Do not believe in wild rumors going around. Listen to instructions from authorities.

8. Observe good sanitation and keep public order.
