4 BASIC TIPS FOR GARDENERS

1. Fertilizing is not necessary during the rainy season. Most of the fertilizer is wasted, as the heavy rains wash away the fertilizer before the plant can draw any nutrients from them.

2. Do not overwater your orchids. Water clogging deprives the roots of air the vitality of the roots is lowered, thus inviting bacterial or fungal infection in the plant. Water requirements differ from every species in any one locality and for each season. The importance of the right amount of water cannot be emphasized enough.

3. Do not let water collect and stagnate on the tops of new shoots or at the places where the leaves joint the stems. Water the roots.

4. Do not choke your plant roots by potting them so that they can’t breathe. Use correct potting and porous materials.
